Effective Date: July 16, 2026
Otama (“the App”) is a focus and screen-time management application for Android, iOS, and iPadOS developed and provided by Skraneix Studios (“we”, “us”, “our”). On Android, Otama may also operate as a home screen launcher. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information.
Otama is designed to keep your lock configurations, routines, focus history, game progress, settings, and other user-created content on your device. We do not operate an advertising or analytics backend. Purchases are securely processed by Apple or Google, while RevenueCat helps the App confirm whether Pro access is active.
We do not ask you to create an Otama account or provide your name, email address, phone number, precise location, contacts, advertising identifier, notes, or app-usage history. We do not receive:
Otama uses RevenueCat to validate purchases, restore purchases, and determine whether Pro features should be available. RevenueCat receives an app-specific identifier and purchase-related information needed to provide those services. Otama does not send RevenueCat your name, email address, selected apps, Screen Time activity, routines, focus history, notes, or game results. We do not sell this information or use it for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Otama requests only the platform permissions needed for enabled features. App selections and restriction configurations are processed locally and are not sent to Skraneix Studios or RevenueCat.
Required to detect which app you have just opened, so Otama can apply your configured interrupt-lock or time-lock. App activity may be stored locally to power your on-device statistics, but it is not sent to Skraneix Studios or RevenueCat.
Required to draw the interrupt-lock overlay — the mini-games, breathing exercises, confirmation prompts, and timer screens — on top of the app you opened. The overlay is shown only by Otama, only on your device.
Required for Otama to function as your home screen launcher. Setting Otama as your default launcher is optional and can be reverted at any time in Android Settings.
Used to display Pomodoro timer notifications, focus reminders, time-lock expiry alerts, and similar in-app messages. All notifications are generated on your device only.
Required to display your installed apps in the app drawer and let you choose which apps to block, time-lock, or add to Quick Nav. The list of installed apps is read locally and never transmitted.
Used to keep the app-monitoring service running so that locks continue working and to restart the service after your device reboots. The monitoring service does not upload your foreground-app history.
Used to let you select applications, categories, and web domains and apply shields through Apple's FamilyControls, ManagedSettings, and DeviceActivity frameworks. Apple represents selections using privacy-preserving opaque tokens. Otama stores those tokens locally so it can apply your rules. We do not receive your broader Screen Time history, and the selected tokens are not sent to RevenueCat.
Used for reminders, timer status, unlock expiry, and other App functions. Notification content is generated locally. Apple or Google may process delivery metadata as part of their operating-system notification services.
Used to display focus or unlock timers on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island where supported. Otama's Live Activities are created and updated locally; we do not use them for advertising or tracking.
App data is stored locally using the private storage mechanisms provided by Android, iOS, or iPadOS. This may include:
Removing the App normally deletes its local app container, subject to operating-system behavior. Device backups may retain or later restore some app data. Android backups are handled by Google or your device manufacturer; iCloud and Apple device backups are handled by Apple. We do not have access to those backups. Store purchase records and RevenueCat entitlement records are not deleted merely because you remove the App.
Otama offers three premium tiers:
Purchases are processed by Google Play on Android and by Apple's App Store on iOS and iPadOS. RevenueCat validates store transactions and provides the App with current entitlement status. We do not receive:
RevenueCat receives the purchase and subscription information needed to validate transactions, restore purchases, and keep Pro access working. Otama uses RevenueCat for subscription management, not for advertising or tracking your activity in other apps.
Apple and Google process purchases under their own privacy policies and may associate transactions with your store account. You can manage subscriptions and request eligible refunds through the store that processed the purchase.
The App does not require:
Most focus and lock features operate locally. An internet connection may be required to retrieve product offerings, make or restore purchases, validate an entitlement, open external legal or support pages, or use store-provided services.
We do not:
We use RevenueCat only to provide purchase and subscription services for Otama. Apple and Google independently process store transactions under their own terms.
Otama is offline-first. Network activity may include:
Otama does not include advertising, behavioral analytics, or remote content feeds.
Most Otama data is stored only on your device. Purchase and entitlement information is processed by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or obtain a copy of personal data.
Under GDPR and UK GDPR, you may have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and objection. You can delete locally stored App data by removing the App, subject to device backups. For a request concerning RevenueCat data, contact us using Section 15. Because Otama does not require an account, we may need your app-specific RevenueCat identifier or purchase information to locate the relevant record. Apple and Google handle requests concerning data in their own systems.
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. California residents may request information about applicable purchase or entitlement records processed on our behalf by RevenueCat and may request deletion where legally available. We may need information sufficient to verify and locate an app-specific record.
We do not track users across unrelated apps, sites, or services for advertising. The App does not use browser cookies and does not respond to browser Do Not Track signals.
The App is intended for general productivity use and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly ask children to provide personal information. Purchase and Pro-access records may be processed by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat when the App is used. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided personal information may contact us to request review or deletion where applicable.
The App uses or interacts with the following services, depending on platform and feature:
No advertising network, behavioral analytics SDK, or third-party crash reporter is included in the App.
We use platform-provided private storage for local App data and rely on encrypted network connections used by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat for purchase-related communication. No system is completely secure. We recommend securing your device with a passcode, PIN, or biometric lock and keeping the operating system current.
Local App data remains on your device until you reset it, remove it through an in-App control, or uninstall the App, subject to operating-system backups. Apple, Google, and RevenueCat may retain purchase-related records as required to provide their services or comply with applicable law.
You may contact us to request deletion of RevenueCat data associated with Otama where legally available. Because the App has no Otama account, we may ask for an app-specific identifier or transaction details needed to locate and verify the record. Deleting a RevenueCat record does not erase purchase records held by Apple or Google and may affect our ability to restore Pro access.
We may update this Privacy Policy if the App’s behavior changes — for example, if we add a new permission or feature in a future version. If changes occur, the updated version will be posted with a new “Effective Date”. Significant changes will be surfaced in the App where appropriate.
